Volleyball Rises to Seventh in AVCA Division III Poll

The Hope College volleyball team continues to climb in the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll.

The Flying Dutch moved up two spots to No. 7 in this week's rankings with 1,499 points.

The University of La Verne (California) remained atop the AVCA poll with 68 of 86 first-place votes and 2,132 points. No. 2 East Texas Baptist received the remaining 18 first-place votes.

Hope is 20-5 overall heading into its regular-season finale and Senior Night on Friday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. against Trine University at DeVos Fieldhouse.
The Flying Dutch can clinch an outright MIAA championship with a victory.

With a 7-0 league record, Hope has already secured at least a share of the conference title and the No. 1 seed for next week's MIAA Tournament. The Flying Dutch will host the semifinals and finals on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 14-15, at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Fans can receive free admission to the Trine match by bringing nonperishable food item donations. All donations will go directly to the Community Action House Food Club at 739 Paw Paw Dr. in Holland.

Community Action House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that has worked to address hunger in the Holland area since 1969. The Food Club is an affordable, membership-based grocery store where monthly membership provides points to shop for food based on household size and income.
