The Hope College men's soccer team continued its strong start to the season with a dominant 9–0 victory at Concordia University Chicago on Saturday in River Forest, Illinois, improving to 2–0 on the year.
Hope's attack was relentless from the opening whistle, producing goals from six different players and generating sustained pressure throughout the match.
Junior Jackson Mindling (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) led the way with a hat trick, scoring the Orange and Blue's first three goals, including two in the first half.
Senior Seth Walters (St. Joseph, Michigan / St. Joseph) added two goals and one assist in a standout performance.
The Flying Dutch were equally effective in their build-up play as senior Micah Wieland (Bristol, Indiana / Northridge) orchestrated much of the attack with three assists and one goal, and senior Evan Morrison (Canton, Michigan / Canton HS) contributed one goal and two assists.
Junior Ryker Corstange (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) added one goal and one assist, and freshman Tate Pellow (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) grabbed his first collegiate goal.
Defensively, Hope allowed minimal chances. Senior goalkeeper Cooper Hutt (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) recorded one save to secure the clean sheet.
