Freshman Noah Norris Tops Men's Cross Country at GRCC/Calvin Invite

Two freshmen led the Hope College men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Grand Rapids Community College/Calvin University Invitational on Friday.

A sunny morning at the Gainey Athletic Complex saw freshman Noah Norris (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Washtenaw Academy) record an 8K time of 27 minutes, 56.3 seconds to finish 31st in the 104-runner field.

Freshman Kenny Evans (Corunna, Michigan / Corunna) clocked a 34th-place time of 28:14.4.

Junior Owen Harries (Lexington, South Carolina / Lexington) finished 35th at 28:21.0.

Sophomore Jack Leyden (Plymouth, Michigan / Salem) crossed the finish line at 28:40.2.

Junior Arman Khaledan (River Forest, Illinois / Oak Park River Forest) went 29:05.3 for 43rd place and Hope's final scoring run.

The Flying Dutchmen totaled 134 points in the meet that featured runners from 14 teams.

Freshman Nicholas Guidone (Chicago, Illinois / Home School) clocked a time of 29:12.3.

Sophomore Nathan DeWitt (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) finished in 29:38.8.

Hope runs again on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 9 a.m. at Indiana State University in Terre Haute in the John Nichols Invitational. In a schedule change, Hope will not compete at Western Michigan University on Friday, Sept. 20.
