The Hope College baseball team closed the season with a 12-1 loss to Adrian College on Thursday at Kalamazoo.

The fourth-seeded Flying Dutchmen finish the season with a 20-20 overall record.

Adrian (22-19) advanced to face top-seeded Kalamazoo in an elimination game today at 4 p.m. The winner moves on to the championship round of the MIAA Tournament to face second-seeded Alma College on Friday, May 12, at 10 a.m.

Hope was outhit, 16-4.

The Flying Dutchmen evened the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly from senior second baseman Nolan Gardner (Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids HS) that scored junior first baseman Owen Krizan (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven).

Adrian took back the lead with a two-run third and tacked on eight runs over the final two innings.
