Sophomore goalie Joseph Fifer of Caledonia, Michigan (Caledonia HS), made three saves for the Hope College men's soccer team in a 1-0 loss at Adrian on Tuesday.

The Flying Dutchmen outshot Adrian by a 24-7 margin but could not get any of their five shots on goal past Adrian goalie Lino Taromina.

Adrian scored in the 35th minute off a header from Brandon Katona.

Hope dropped to 3-5 overall on the season and 0-3 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.

Adrian improved to 4-3-1 overall and 3-0 in MIAA matches.

The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Kalamazoo. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
