The Hope College men's soccer team clinched a berth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament with a 1-1 tie against Alma during Senior Night on Wednesday at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
The Flying Dutchmen are now 13-5-1 overall and 8-4-1 in league play. They are tied for second place with Kalamazoo.
Hope plays at Kalamazoo on Saturday, Nov. 1. The winner earns the second seed for the four-team MIAA Tournament and home-field advantage for the semifinals, while the loser will be the third seed.
The Flying Dutchmen salvaged a tie against Alma (7-7-3, 6-6-1 MIAA) by scoring 17 minutes, 20 seconds remaining in regulation.

Alma had held the lead for 60 minutes following a first-half goal.
The two teams played two, 10-minute sudden-death overtime periods before settling for a draw.
Junior goalie Ethan Beswick of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), made seven saves.
Hope honored nine seniors during a pre-game ceremony for their final regular-season home game: Jonathan DeVries, Cameron Dice, Connor Kogge, Tarwo Konbloa, Gavin Midlam, Will Morlock, Logan Sikkenga, Corey Stelk and Brandon Underwood.
